It serves as the daily outdoor office for the older residents of Shenandoah, a neighborhood that has become a center for Cuban exile life. While the rest of Miami accelerated through the decades, this small square maintained a steady, slow pace of play. Men arrive here early every morning to set up their tiles, continuing a tradition rooted in the island culture they brought with them when they settled here in the nineteen seventies.
