Green Oasis

Green Oasis began in nineteen eighty-one when two local residents, Norman Vallee and Reinaldo Arana, looked out from their windows at a series of abandoned lots on East Eighth Street. The area was then filled with rubble, abandoned cars, and heaps of trash left over from a decade of neighborhood decay. They decided to clear the debris by hand, eventually transforming the site into a green sanctuary for local children and residents.
