During the nineteen seventies, she lived and worked on the fourth floor of this building, then a gritty, creative hub in the heart of the neighborhood. It was in this space that she hosted frequent gatherings for prominent figures in the art world, including Andy Warhol and Ray Johnson. Her granddaughter, Neith Nevelson, also lived and painted on the second floor during this same period, adding a personal layer to the building's creative legacy. Today, the structure is known as the Nevelson House, preserving the memory of the artist who often transformed the discarded scraps of city life into monumental, rhythmic works of art.
