W. O. Decker

The W. O. Decker is the last surviving wooden tugboat built in New York City. Constructed in Long Island City in 1930, it represents a vanished era when the harbor was densely packed with industrial traffic and small, maneuverable craft. While thousands of similar tugs once navigated the narrow, twisting waterways of the region, this fifty-two-foot vessel remains the only one of its kind still serving as an active, floating piece of maritime history.
