At eight forty-six on the morning of September 11, 2001, the world changed in an instant when American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center. This Boeing 767 had departed Boston Logan International Airport earlier that morning, bound for Los Angeles, before being hijacked by five terrorists. The impact occurred between the ninety-third and ninety-ninth floors of the tower. This event marked the beginning of the most devastating terrorist attack in human history, instantly claiming the lives of everyone on board and hundreds of people inside the building.
