Citigroup Center

The Citigroup Center stands out in the Midtown skyline with its striking slanted roof and its base, which rests on four massive stilts. These columns are not located at the corners of the building, but instead at the center of each side. This unconventional placement was a requirement dictated by the presence of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church on the corner of the lot. The developers agreed to build the skyscraper over the church, necessitating a design that allowed the tower to hover above the site while keeping the church structure intact.
