Jazz at Lincoln Center occupies a unique position in New York City, tucked away on the fifth floor of the Deutsche Bank Center at Columbus Circle. While many concert halls are built directly into the ground, this facility is a feat of engineering, constructed as a box within a box. To keep the music pristine and isolated from the vibrations of the bustling city and the subway lines running deep below the building, the entire structure floats on specialized steel and neoprene padding.
