Museum of the Peaceful Arts

The Museum of the Peaceful Arts was a bold, early twentieth-century project that never fully realized its grand vision. Conceived in 1912 by mineralogist and gem expert George Frederick Kunz, the museum was intended to celebrate human ingenuity and industrial progress during a long era of relative peace. Kunz, who served as the president of Tiffany and Company, imagined a massive complex of twenty separate museums covering everything from aviation and agriculture to electricity and home economics.
