The Belmont Plaza Hotel at Lexington Avenue and 49th Street began its life in 1928 under the name Hotel Montclair. It transformed into a pivotal site for American entertainment history during the mid-twentieth century because of its popular supper club, the Glass Hat. This venue served as a key meeting point for performers, including the legendary comedy duo Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.
