Grand Ferry Park

Grand Ferry Park stands on a site that once served as the literal gateway to this neighborhood. In the nineteenth century, the Grand Street Ferry docked here to carry passengers and farm goods across the East River to Manhattan. This ferry service became the primary engine for the early growth of what was then known as the town of Williamsburgh, making the waterfront a bustling hub of daily travel and commerce.
