It began in nineteen forty-eight when local fishermen organized to sell their catches directly to the public instead of relying on city agents. For decades, trawlers tied up here to unload prawns and seasonal fish within minutes of docking. The operation remains a working facility where net mending and boat repairs continue alongside the retail shop selling fresh local seafood.
