Buffalo Nations Museum

The Buffalo Nations Museum features a distinctive roofline fashioned to mimic the shape of a traditional teepee. It serves as a repository for the art and histories of the Nakoda, Cree, Dene, and Blackfoot nations. In the early nineteen fifties, Norman Luxton founded the collection to preserve items he acquired through his lifelong relationships with Indigenous families in the region. He displayed beaded clothing, tools, and weapons here to keep these stories within the Bow Valley after decades of federal suppression.
