Casa Museo Trude Sojka

museum

The Casa Museo Trude Sojka features a striking collection of sculptures and paintings housed within the former residence of the artist herself. Trude Sojka arrived in Ecuador in nineteen thirty-nine, having fled Nazi-occupied Prague. She spent decades transforming discarded industrial scrap, like metal gears and broken clay, into expressive figures that populate these rooms. The house retains the layout of her family home, where she worked and raised her children surrounded by the very materials she salvaged from local factories.
