Nero Café

food drink

The Nero Café occupies a corner of a historic building where the walls are thick enough to muffle the constant rumble of Quito traffic outside. Its most recognizable feature is the oversized, weathered wooden door that seems to belong to a colonial home rather than a modern coffee shop. Years ago, the owner salvaged the heavy entrance from a crumbling mansion in the old town, installing it here to hold onto a fragment of the city that most people were busy tearing down.
