La Maison des Métallos

The red brick facade of La Maison des Métallos features a prominent, circular clock face embedded directly into the masonry. Built in the late nineteenth century, this structure served for decades as a manufacturing plant for musical instruments before the local metalworkers' union claimed it as their headquarters in nineteen thirty-six. During the labor strikes of that era, the union used this hall to organize their collective bargaining efforts and host workers' assemblies, firmly anchoring the site in the history of French industrial activism.
