Square Robert Montagne hides behind a heavy iron fence at the corner of rue des Boulangers. The park sits on the site of a former convent, the Couvent des Miramiones, which functioned as a boarding school for young girls starting in the seventeenth century. During the nineteen thirties, the city cleared the remaining walls to create this small green space. A bronze bust of Robert Montagne, a French scholar of North African sociology, watches over the children who play on the gravel paths.
