Roseraie du Luxembourg

park garden

The Roseraie du Luxembourg displays rows of rosebushes arranged in geometric patterns within the Jardin du Luxembourg. Queen Marie de Medici commissioned the original gardens in sixteen twelve, wanting to recreate the Florentine style of her childhood. Years later, the gardener Andre Le Notre redesigned the layout, but the specific rose collection became a dedicated feature much later. Horticulturalists maintain the varieties to bloom in sequence, ensuring visitors see different colors depending on the month they arrive.
