Hôtel Beauharnais

The Hôtel Beauharnais features a stone façade adorned with heavy, ornate carvings that stand out even against the grand architecture of the Rue de Lille. Built in the early eighteenth century, the residence served as the private home of Napoleon Bonaparte’s stepson, Eugène de Beauharnais. During his residency, he filled the rooms with opulent Empire-style furnishings. Today, the building houses the residence of the German ambassador, maintaining a strictly guarded interior that has remained largely unchanged since the early nineteenth century.
