Built in seventeen twenty-two for the Marquis de Lassay, the residence serves today as the official home of the President of the French National Assembly. It remains physically connected to the Palais Bourbon by a narrow gallery, allowing officials to move between the residence and the legislative chamber without stepping foot into the public square.
