landmark

The Mémorial de la Shoah features a wall of names carved directly into gray stone, listing seventy-six thousand French Jews deported during the German occupation. Isaac Schneersohn established this center in secret during the war, collecting documents while the city was still under Nazi control. He wanted to ensure that the scale of the genocide remained a documented, undeniable truth for the survivors who would follow.
