September 1982 Paris car bombing

On September 17, 1982, the street where you are walking became the scene of a violent car bombing. An explosion tore through the area at 3:25 in the afternoon, centered on a Peugeot 504 belonging to Amos Man-El, an Israeli diplomat stationed nearby. The force of the blast was so intense that witnesses reported the vehicle was lifted several feet into the air before landing in the middle of the street in flames.
