You are approaching Maison Proust, a boutique hotel in the Marais district that functions as an immersive tribute to the life and social world of the French novelist Marcel Proust. The interior, designed by Jacques Garcia, avoids modern minimalism in favor of a dense, opulent aesthetic meant to evoke the Parisian salons of the Belle Époque. Each of the twenty-three suites is uniquely themed to honor a specific figure from the author's personal life or his monumental seven-volume work, In Search of Lost Time. The hotel features a library and a bar where the drink menu includes references to Proustian themes, such as his famous recollection of a madeleine dipped in tea. Beneath the building lies a spa designed with orientalist motifs, featuring a ten-meter pool and stone surfaces that contrast with the velvet-heavy décor of the rooms above.
