La Maison Rouge

museum

La Maison Rouge occupies a corner of a former industrial site in the twelfth arrondissement, identifiable by its bright red brick facade that breaks up the surrounding gray masonry. Antoine de Galbert established this foundation in two thousand three to house his private collection of contemporary art. While major museums focus on established movements, this space prioritized self-taught artists and the raw, often unsettling work that lived outside the traditional gallery system. He closed the doors to the public in twenty eighteen.
