Musée Moissan

The Musée Moissan serves as a specialized tribute to the pioneering French chemist Henri Moissan, located within the historic buildings of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Inaugurated in nineteen twenty-five, the museum preserves the scientific legacy of the man who famously achieved the first isolation of the element fluorine in eighteen eighty-six. This breakthrough established Moissan as one of the most significant experimentalists of the nineteenth century and ultimately paved the way for his Nobel Prize in Chemistry in nineteen zero six.
