Pelouse de Reuilly

The Pelouse de Reuilly is a vast, open expanse that serves as a modern stage for some of the oldest traditions in Paris. While today it is a lush green space at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes, its existence is rooted in a much more temporary purpose. The area was cleared for the Colonial Exposition of 1931, an event designed to showcase the cultures and resources of French territories across the globe. When the exhibition's elaborate pavillions were dismantled, the city preserved this massive clearing as a permanent venue for large-scale public gatherings.
