Château de Conflans ( fontaine et rampe)

The Château de Conflans is marked by a sweeping stone ramp and an ornate fountain that stand as the remnants of a once-vast estate. This site served as the residence for the Archbishops of Paris for centuries. In sixteen seventy-two, Archbishop François Harlay de Champvallon hosted King Louis the Fourteenth here, turning the grounds into a center of royal intrigue and religious politics. The stairs allowed carriages to pull directly to the terrace, a feature designed to handle the king's massive entourage.
