Château de Conflans ( fontaine et rampe)

The ruins you see here are all that remain of the Château de Conflans, a site that served as a grand country retreat for centuries before its demolition in the twentieth century. While the main buildings have vanished, the surviving gate, fountain, and stone staircase offer a glimpse into the estate that once commanded breathtaking views of the Seine and Marne rivers. The property belonged to powerful figures, including the influential noblewoman Mahaut d'Artois in the fourteenth century and later the archbishops of Paris, who used the chateau as a private residence from the late seventeenth century until the French Revolution.
