The Musée des Arts Forains occupies a collection of nineteenth-century wine warehouses in Bercy, recognizable by the abundant greenery spilling over their long, low stone facades. Inside, Jean-Paul Favand assembled thousands of antique fairground rides and attractions that would have otherwise been scrapped or sold off in pieces. When a famous carousel finally stopped turning in a quiet town in the countryside, Favand brought the carved wooden horses and the entire mechanical organ system to these halls to keep them moving.
