Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir

The Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir arches across the Seine with a distinctive double-curve profile, linking the Bercy neighborhood to the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Unlike traditional bridges that rely on heavy pylons, this steel structure rests entirely on its own tension, bending in a single, fluid leap. Architect Dietmar Feichtinger designed the deck to split and recombine, creating an interlaced path that mimics the movement of the river below. It opened in two thousand six to connect these two evolving districts.
