Les Frigos

Les Frigos earned its name because this massive industrial structure began its life in nineteen twenty-one as a refrigerated storage depot for railway wagons. It served as a critical link in the city's food supply chain, keeping goods destined for the historic Les Halles market cool before they were distributed to the rest of Paris. The building's thick, insulated walls were designed to withstand extreme temperature shifts, a feature that would eventually prove vital for its second life as a hub for artists and musicians.
