Stele à la memoire du genocide Armenien

The Stele to the memory of the Armenian genocide in Charenton-le-Pont consists of a rugged, unhewn stone block mounted on a concrete base. It serves as a permanent mark of the nineteen fifteen massacres within the urban landscape. When the monument was unveiled in the nineteen eighties, the local Armenian community pushed for its placement here to ensure their history remained visible to the town. It stands as a solitary, heavy presence in the square, carved with inscriptions that honor the victims.
