Vestiges de la gare de Rue Claude Decean

historic

A rusted iron fence guards a strip of overgrown tracks that slice through the middle of the block. These rails once carried cargo into the heart of the city via the Petite Ceinture, a circular railway line built in the mid nineteenth century to connect Paris’s main stations. While most of the city’s train lines grew into bustling hubs, this section fell into silence after the freight traffic stopped in the nineteen thirties, leaving behind a narrow, quiet corridor trapped between apartment buildings.
