The building at number ten rue Nicolas Appert served as the headquarters for the satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo in early 2015. These meetings typically took place in a second-floor conference room, surrounded by past covers of the magazine that featured their characteristic biting political and religious satire. On the morning of January 7, 2015, the staff was gathered here for their first editorial session of the new year when they were targeted in a violent attack.
