The work you are approaching is part of a massive, citywide project by an anonymous French street artist who goes by the name Invader. Since the late nineteen nineties, he has been installing these ceramic tile mosaics, which mimic the pixelated, eight-bit aesthetic of classic nineteen seventies and eighties arcade games. He views these installations as a playful invasion of the urban landscape, transforming ordinary street corners into an expansive, open-air gallery.
