Deyrolle

landmark

Deyrolle is an institution that functions as both a high-end store and a living cabinet of curiosities. Founded in 1831 by Jean-Baptiste Deyrolle, the shop originally served as a hub for naturalists and collectors seeking insects and taxidermy specimens. In 1888, it moved to its current home on the Rue du Bac, a former private mansion where the atmosphere of the nineteenth-century scientific boom still lingers among the sea-green walls and gold-leaf display cases.
