Asanka Local International Chop Bar

The walls of Asanka Local are plastered with hundreds of wooden cooking ladles, or asanka pestles, creating a dense, textured canopy that crowds the ceiling. While many restaurants in Osu cater to tourists with polished interiors, this spot began in nineteen ninety-four with a singular focus on traditional Ghanaian home cooking served in clay bowls. It started as a small operation, but its reputation grew when it brought village-style fufu and groundnut soup directly into the heart of the capital city.
