The blue gate of Studio Badge serves as the entrance to the creative workspace of James Barnor. Inside this compound, Barnor captured portraits of Ghana’s transition to independence during the nineteen fifties and sixties. He opened his studio here to provide identity photos and social documentation for a city in flux. Even now, the space carries the quiet hum of his archive, where negatives hold the faces of people who stood in this same spot decades before the digital age took hold.
