Mykonos Folklore Museum

The Mykonos Folklore Museum occupies an eighteenth-century captain's house sitting directly above the water in the Kastro neighborhood. Its whitewashed stone walls and iconic wooden balconies distinguish it from the surrounding maze of commercial storefronts. Inside, the rooms preserve the domestic life of the island before tourism arrived, displaying nineteenth-century furniture, heavy iron keys, and intricate embroidery. A local teacher named Ioannis Miliopoulos founded this collection in nineteen fifty-eight, driven by a desire to keep the island's fading maritime traditions intact.
