Tel Aviv Museum of Art

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art features a jagged, spiraling facade of white precast concrete panels that slice into the surrounding skyline. This structure is the Herta and Paul Amir Building, designed to solve the problem of displaying art within a narrow, triangular plot of land. Its interior revolves around a light shaft that twists from the roof to the lowest basement level. Architect Preston Scott Cohen constructed this light-well to force natural light into the deepest galleries, where sunlight rarely reaches.
