When it opened in the early nineteen seventies, it replaced the legendary London Cafe, a beloved open-air gathering spot where the city’s poets and politicians debated for decades. Architects Yaakov Rechter and Amnon Schwartz designed this tower to house a massive commercial center on its lower floors, effectively bringing a modern, climate-controlled shopping experience to a bustling downtown corner.
