Café Yom Tov

Café Yom Tov anchors the corner of Yom Tov and HaCarmel streets with its weathered blue paint and heavy wooden shutters. It stands as a stubborn remnant of the old Yemenite Quarter, predating the slicker renovations that have taken over much of Tel Aviv. While the city grew into a glass-fronted metropolis around it, this spot held onto its role as a neighborhood hub. Men once gathered here to play backgammon for hours over bitter coffee, regardless of the shifting world outside.
