Gutman Museum

The Nachum Gutman Museum of Art sits inside a pale, two-story building known as the Writer’s House, distinguished by a distinct arched doorway and tall windows that open onto the street. Nachum Gutman painted the early days of Tel Aviv with bright, saturated colors, often sketching laborers and children in the sand. In nineteen seventy-eight, the building became a home for his archives and sketches. It holds the original watercolors Gutman used to illustrate iconic Israeli children’s books and his early sketches of Jaffa.
