Kdumim Square

Kdumim Square marks the highest point of old Jaffa, paved with stone and anchored by the protruding, jagged ruins of the Andromeda Rock viewpoint. This square sits atop layers of history where the city walls once protected the port. In nineteen seventy-six, archaeologists uncovered a monumental wall from the Bronze Age buried directly beneath the surface. Today, visitors stand where the Crusaders built fortifications and where Napoleon Bonaparte supposedly surveyed the coastline during his failed siege in seventeen ninety-nine.
