The Wishing Bridge is a wooden pedestrian arch spanning a grassy slope in Charles Clore Park. Carved into its handrails are the twelve signs of the zodiac. According to a local tradition that emerged shortly after its construction in the late nineteen nineties, anyone who crosses the bridge while touching their personal zodiac sign will have their wish granted. The bridge was built by artist Clila Hayat, and it connects the promenade to the beach, creating a deliberate path for hopeful visitors.
