Aharon Chelouche House

historic

The Aharon Chelouche House stands out with its heavy, light-colored stone walls and the delicate iron balcony that traces the second-story facade. It was the first house built outside the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek in eighteen eighty-three. Aharon Chelouche, a jeweler and banker, wanted to expand the city limits and personally supervised the construction of his family home. He even brought his own workers from the Galilee to lay the stone, ensuring the walls could withstand the coastal air.
