Miyashita Park

A long, glass-walled structure runs parallel to the train tracks, topped by a green rooftop garden. This is Miyashita Park, a multi-story shopping complex and public space that replaced a cramped, narrow park from the nineteen thirties. In twenty-twenty, the city transformed the original ground-level strip into this elevated facility to maximize space in the densest part of Shibuya. A concrete skate park sits tucked underneath the elevated structure, hidden from the street by the sleek, modern steel framing.
