The entrance to Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku features a kaleidoscope of mirrors angled toward the street. It acts as a mechanical periscope, reflecting the sidewalk and the nearby zelkova trees into a fractured, dizzying collage for anyone riding the long escalator upward. The structure was designed by Hiroshi Nakamura to serve as a transition point between the dense, commercial activity of the district and the open sky. Visitors often pause on these moving stairs to watch their own reflection shift as they ascend.
