Casa del Obispo "Galería de Arte Popular Mexicano"

The Casa del Obispo features a distinctive, thick stone facade with heavy wooden doors that date back to the seventeenth century. Bishop Diego de Montoya once lived here, using the property as a retreat from the noise of the city center. Legend says he maintained a secret tunnel connecting the house to the nearby convent, allowing him to bypass the public streets entirely. Today, the quiet courtyard houses a collection of Mexican folk art, preserving the colonial layout of a private residence.
