Atelier Forty-Four sits behind a wall of glass and steel in the heart of Guéliz, standing apart from the terracotta-toned tradition of the medina. This space acts as a gallery and creative hub where local painters and designers display work that pushes against the city's established aesthetic. When it first opened, the owner insisted on raw concrete walls and industrial lighting to strip away any sense of colonial nostalgia. Artists here trade canvases on the floor while motorcycles hum past the entrance.
