Queer Britain museum

You are approaching a landmark in the history of British heritage. Queer Britain is the first dedicated national museum of LGBTQ plus history and culture in the United Kingdom. Its establishment in May two thousand twenty-two provided a permanent physical home for narratives that were previously scattered across private collections or lost to time. Occupying space in a historic building at Granary Square in King's Cross, the museum functions as a place to reclaim and celebrate stories of queer life, activism, and identity. Its founding director, Joseph Galliano-Doig, launched the campaign for this space after realizing that despite the profound impact of queer individuals on British society, no centralized institution existed to house their collective archives or preserve their legacies for future generations.
