Bust of Noor Inayat Khan

In the corner of Gordon Square Gardens stands a bronze bust of Noor Inayat Khan. As a young girl, she lived nearby and would play in these very gardens, famously searching for fairies among the flower beds. Decades later, she would return to this neighborhood while training as a secret agent for the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War. This bust serves as the first freestanding memorial in the United Kingdom to honor a woman of Asian descent.
